What safety measures are in place to protect against COVID-19?
We are following government direction to keep your family and our staff safe during office visits. We have developed an informed
consent form that describes our safety measures in detail. Screening is conducted before each session. Hand sanitizer is used by clients and staff at the onset of the session, during the session as needed, and when leaving the office. Masks are warn (and provided) when a
safe distance of 2 meters is not possible. We have also installed a plexi glass shield on our work table. All material and furniture is
thoroughly sanitized after use and between sessions.
How do I make a referral for services?
Simply call or email our office to make a referral.
Do I need a referral from another service provider such as a physician?
No. You can refer yourself or your child without a referral. Note though that some health insurance companies may require a physician's
referral before processing a claim.
Can service providers make a referral for a patient/client?
A service provider can forward a referral and we will contact the individual to confirm their interest in our services and plan the next
step. All services or voluntary and informed consent must be obtained from the client before the onset of services.
Is a diagnosis required to make a referral for psychological intervention?
No. Intervention is helpful for a wide range of mental health concerns.
How do I know which type of service is best for my child?
The first step to psychological support is contacting us to discuss your needs and to explore which service is best for you or your child.
There is no charge for this initial contact. We will help you chose whether you want to access a consultation, a full assessment, or
intervention sessions.
Can I share the assessment report and intervention progress notes with other service providers?
Once a report/note is shared with you (as the client or the legal guardian of the client), you can share it as you see fit. Other service
providers cannot share the report without your consent.
What if other services are recommended during the course of psychological services?
If we feel that other services would be helpful for you or your child (e.g., speech and language, medical consultation, school support), we
will discuss this wit you and help you access community resources. We strongly promote collaboration with other services and are more
than happy to advocate on your behalf.
